Victor Gruen fled from fascist Vienna to New York in 1938 and returned to his hometown at the end of the 1960ies.
WORK
After world war II Gruen promoted the concept of the "shopping town", which was supposed to bring a commercial, cultural and social center into sprawling suburbia.
MOVIE
The documentary follows Gruens life story and thereby examines the relationship between consumerism and urban development.
